When I searched I found what looks like a Australian Manufacture did see where they have a office in Canada but not sure I've seen them in the US? Do they make Canisters or Sumps? I also saw a brand called is it Ehopps?

I found the aqua nova website. They are made in Poland. On a side note, I never would have thought this thread would last so long.

Are systems such as these going to outperform my canisters by allot? See I got the FX5 because I thought it was a super canister and replaced my 530 with it to start with but now I'm back to both?

There is nothing special about sumps that will out perform the canisters except for the larger volume you can put media in...and easier to service due to the open nature of the system.

Currently I have about 10 gallons of biofilter material in all my canisters in my system. I suspect the performance of a sump with 10 gallons of the same materials are going to be the same as the canisters.

I do no Marineland had a period to to far back (like 2010) with some head problems. They say it's fixed and they are great about replacing those units. With my oscars I was running the FX5 and two 406's the water in the tank was ok not great. The 530 has helped with clearing the water. Truth be it known I think I'm just so-so with both of these filters. I don't think that any canister is going to get you out of water changes. But I guess I'm still looking for a simplier option. My health is just so so I have a hard time cleaning lots of filters. The FX5 I thought was the answer and I expected more than it turned out to be. To me is it a good filter yes....but great filter....to me it falls short. I am all Fluval except 1 530. I know and can fell it coming that allot are going to say a sump system. Wish I could find one all made ready to go at a reasonable price (with sumps I don't even no what that is?) we will see I guess

Hawk where you looking for more water flow in your tank? Or one to hold more media? Because if you are just looking for flow i would add a powerhead. I have one it is pretty strong should help with flow if that is what you are looking for.. Or something for just a little bit More filtration for cheap... Sponge filter i know people don't like them but i have had one with my festae for a while now has always added to my water being crystal clear.
