My New Monster can you guess what breed she is?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you need to use positive and negative reinforcement and treat her like a puppy not i child i know some think its cruel but treats and a shock caller go a very long way. we use this for hunting dogs and they turn into machine. if not wanting to use a caller just don't be afraid to spank her one or twice never more if you do tat she will become skittish and afraid. if she nips you grab her mouth and keep it closed and tell her no. she will not like this but after a little she will not nip anymore hope this helps and is only my opinion from my experience im just trying to help

I'm big into bully breeds. She is at least half boxer, prolly mixed with mastiff. If you haven't had bully breeds before you definitely should take her to obedience classes. These dogs are one owner dogs. They were originally breed to fight other animals so you need to start socializing her with other dogs and ppl asap and throughout their lives.

PS: if you have any other questions feel free to pm or email me at bigcurt012345@hotmail.com

Yup. He's right listen to him trust me you don't need an unsocialized bully breed they are not fun to be around or safe to be around.

I'm not trying to be an ass but physical discipline is very much not the way to train bully breeds. It works well for "working dogs" like hunting dogs and police dogs but it's not what you want to do with your companion/family dog. It will actually encourage nipping of ppls hands which the op already said they were having problems with.

Very nice looking Dog! Does looks like Boxer American Pit mix to me. I've got a 9month old Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). Got her at 6 weeks old. Biting/Nipping was 1st thing I wanted to correct, since Mastiff can hav over 2x bite pressure than a pit or Shepard.
Grabbing her by muzzle and saying No Bite didn't work for me. I had to go theatrical. When she would nip/bite at me, id yell OUCH, and walk away as if wounded. Still use this method, and works well! She at 1st gets scared, but then follows me and submits, almost in a 'please forgive me' manor. Don't get me wrong, I'm saying dogs r like, people, hav emotions like us. Should never train your dog as if it's a person. You must make sure dog sees people as alpha!!!
I've raised quite a few mastiffs, they normally easy and T willing to please owner, but I've still always brought them to obedience classes (even tho my ex is a certified trainer, and taught me few tricks) Not so much for the lessons, but for the socialization. U can hav a well trained dog at home, yet a crazy won't listen too thing u say dog out in public. The Cane Corso I own rite now has been most difficult, she really thick headed! Anyway, id still suggest obedience training, class with other dogs and people around! Will definitely benefit from it

Through experience. Knowing what traits different breeds have and which of those traits trend to be passed on when two breeds are mixed.

Right but I was more looking forward to the owner/thread starter having a chance to answer my question with his or her own opinion.

You have a cane corso. Awesome my coworker has a 9 year old male awesome dogs. In my opinion mastiffs are one of my least favorite dogs to train. On the other hand boxers and pits are some of my favorite dogs to train. To OP take her to a puppy class or get some one on one with a certified trainer and make sure she is socialized around people, kids, dogs, cat, new places ect. Bully breed are rewarding dogs to own I'd handled properly
