how much do you guys TIP your waiter?

Tipping in Australia doesnt exist, unless your being really nice...
My wife & i spent 2 weeks in hawaii earlier this year and found it really strange that we had to tip just about everyone. Its not something that we had ever done before and really werent sure how much to tip, most of the time we just left the coins behind if we paid cash- i know it wasnt much but honestly i didnt care, we were there on our honeymoon, the last thing i was worried about was what the waiter, tourguide or whoever it was, thought of us.

Having a lot of friends in the industry i normally tip pretty well, especially if im at one of their restaurants / bars...

But, at the same time, give me bad service, and i'll be sure to let all my friends know not to go there...

Take the first number and double it. If the second number is more than five, add a buck. For example: for an $86 bill I would tip $17 for average service. An $84 bill, I would tip $16. If the service is exceptional or if the person is really friendly, I will add a buck or two. Drinks at the bar are $1 a drink flat. I usually tip whoever I can throughout the day, too. Gas station attendants, coffee shop employees, sandwich shop employees, etc all get a buck or two. These people work ****ty jobs with low pay. My theory is: at least they aren't on welfare. They are trying to make it on their own, and are most likely struggling to survive. To me $1 is nothing. I won't miss it. To him, if everyone he serves tips him a buck, an extra $20-$30 a day is a huge difference. When my government takes money from me and gives it to people that don't deserve it, it pisses me off. When I can help someone who is trying to help themselves, it makes me happy.

everyone have a dif view to this mandatory tipping is wrong in my opinion there working there bcz they want to if your a good waiter u will get a fair tip if ur rude or super bad waiter 50 cents and a note saying "for your have @$$ job "

We tip too much. It's a good day if your a waitress or waiter for us. A $30 meal usually gets 8 bucks.

I made that mistake I had my first paycheck for 3 days worth $1600.00
I was happy I took my fam out to eat I tipped the guy before we even got our food right after
Drinks actually half an hour later he brings us our food I found long nasty piece of hair on my angel hair pasta then our appetizer got in after we were done eating!?!? WTF man I was sooo furious Last time I tipped anyone $30.00 now I tip around ten bucks bad service,rude waiters,or waiters that act like they don't want to be there working a big fat $0.00

I run a bar and grill our servers make 2.83 an hour they each have a number of seats in their section to take care of if they have a large group that will take up their whole section that might be all they wait on that night. We post on our menu and on our website that we add 18 percent gratuity for tables of 8 or more if you dont want to pay it eat somewhere else! There are plenty of mcds and diners around for cheapos!!

It's not about cheapos if the waiters arent people friendly then that's not the job for them no one wants to see a waiter with attitude, everybody always comes back because of the service not only the food,your food could be the best but if your atittude is negative forget it,anytime I go to this sushi bar with my wifey I always get the same waiter,he remembers our names,our drinks,our food, without us telling him now he gets $20.00 anytime we go,he is a perfect example of what people should hire for their restaurants,always clean cut, good sense of humor goes beyond to satisfy the customer and remembers your name,all I'm saying is bad waiters PLS LEAVE YOUR DRAMA AT HOME DON'T BRING IT WITH YOU TO WORK!!!!!
