Best Pellet Food for Stingrays

I give them live snails when there's a bloom in my other tanks, since my rays are not too keen to eat pellets, tried but breaks my heart to see them not eat

I do the same!! My shrimp/snail tank produces quite a bit and I'll snag 20 or more at a time and the rays love it! It takes time to get some rays to take pellets, but it always works in the end and it makes for a happy ray and owner so definitely worth the time and effort.

I feed massivore and try to mix NLS pellets. nls mostly gets passed over but mouthed at times Massivore they eat alright. I also feed talapia and raw prawns. 7 rays lots of food but the kilo of massivore lasts a good long while.

Yeah, massivore and carnivore are usually the easiest to feed rays when transitioning to pellets. I guess it's the texture, taste, and/or smell. But, it's just so dang expensive! My rays go through pellet food really fast, but I have a bunch of rays and they're all pretty big now.

Thanks for this! I haven't seen it broken down by price like this before. I knew NLS was substantially cheaper, but I have never sat down and done the math.

No prob! I'm always looking for better/cheaper ways to feed my rays!

Ken's premium earthworm sticks - 5 lb -> $48.50 = $9.70 per lb
Ken's premium krill pellet 6mm - 5 lb -> $27.00 = $5.40 per lb

Rays took both fairly readily. Gettin' cheaper to feed these guys....

Wow i cant even imagine feeding pellets. Im trying to get my shrimp under 5 bucks a lb and smelt under 3 bucks a lb. my food bill would be insane if i fed pellets

You don't have to feed nearly as much when on pellets, guys!

New mix:

2 cups Hikari Sturgeon (medium)
2 cups NLS Thera +A (Jumbo)
2 cups Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold (medium)
1-1/2 cups Ken's Sinking Sticks with Earthworms (1/2 lb package)
1-1/2 cups Ken's Premium Sinking Krill Pellets (6.0 mm)
1 cup Hikari Carnivore

Massivore used to be my rays sole pellet to feed, but due to its cost and my desire to provide more variety I rarely feed massivore anymore. Now, it's simply a treat like fish fillet or market shrimp, etc.

Nearly all of my rays are eating this mix now. My BD/Leos (four total), castexi, Henlei (five big rays), P14, motoro, pearl... the only rays not eating well on this mix are my new rays. But, they will be soon!!! All of my dats, aros, catfish, etc are eating this mix. Makes things that much easier!

If you order food, give the HBH super moist Krill a go,

That stuff gets some good attention!

I got some of Kens Meat discs, seems to be eaten fine by rays already eating pellets
