Any update on this? Did you eventually try the sch80? I couldn't find the original thread from Boldtogether. I'm really kinda intrigued and have a little time on my hands today and I'd like to give this a shot.

I hope your burning those pipes outside or in a well ventilated room because I heard the fumes from burning pvc is pretty toxic.

Well I took a crack at this today and while its not the best, it was only my first time and I did 2 "logs". These will be good for my Trimac breeder tank...and yes I had MUCHO ventilation. I used 3/4", 1 1/2" and 2" sch80 gray.
