No, the lights were on. So he was found beat up around 7:20PM, the timers are set to turn the lights off at 8:00PM. Also the emerald crab is a female, meaning that she doesnt have the large claws that males do. I guess its possible. I still have no clue though. The clownfish doesnt show any agression towards any of his tankmates. I have never seen him bully, chase, or stare down another fish. The clownfish is 1/4 of the total mass of the mandarin. He's so much smaller...
The only tankmates of comparable size to the mandarin is the bangaii cardinal and 1 of the peppermint shrimp.
The crab is around full grown, about 3/4"-1"
I say it cannot be the gumdrop goby because he is so small, he is 1/2", the mandarin was 3" and the gumdrop is about 1/20 the mass of the mandarin. The gumdrops are known for being very, very peaceful, and mine appears peaceful too. Mass as in grams, or cubic volume. Not length.
This is when he stopped breathing. One last LONG intake breath and then the lungs released. Probably officially went brain dead a few minutes later...
