  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ fair enough, and i guess maybe not as many brand choices over there?

Since over here besides the main brands fluval / ehiem etc, we also get a lot of italian and japanese aquatic brand products to choose from as well among others...

api xps are good, or you could do 2 empor 400s, 1 empor is okay for just an oscar but a big pleco is just a wateful as a big oscar so you need 2, of course 1 is okay for now but you will need 2 when they are full grown......

Aquatop canisters which are the sunsuns are great filters. I have the 400uv along with 2 aqueon 75's, and a powerhead on my 75. I myself am thinking of doing a DIY wet/dry but not sure yet

So my Oscar has been moved from my 10G to the 75G and what a difference. He swims constantly now and seems so much healthier (color etc.) The Pleco has been staying put under the rock but they seem to be loving the new setup. I feel bad for leaving them in the 10G so long (Oscar is 7 inches and Pleco is 6") My next order of business is a canister filter. I hear all kinds of horror stories about flooding and leaks. What's everyone's opinion on Canister filters and what I should be looking at for my 75G. Thanks

fluval then rena-----this is the order i follow when buying a canister filter........btw-----get rid of the pleco, they create more waste product then what you may think they clean up.......add 2 ac101 hobz for mechanical filtration.......

I currently have 5 juvie oscars in my 75g ranging from 2"-6" and they're filtered with a rena xp3. I clean the filter every 2 months, and water change every month, and my water conditions are good and my oscars are happy. They'll be moving to a bigger thank as they get a bit larger, but the second 6" is much slower than the first 6".

Been looking all day and still cannot make up my mind! I was deadset on 2 Peng 350's but the canister thing keeps nagging me! MAN!

I have decided on the Fluval 300W heater though.

Okay.... I compromised. I ordered a Fluval E 300Watt heater, API Master test kit and 2 Penguin 350's.... If they cannot keep up or water tests come back not correct then I will add on a Canister filter in the near future. Sound like a good plan?
