hes very aggressive he (or she not sure) bites me if i make a sudden move while rearranging the tank I put a 4 inch creek chub in there and he rammed it in the side till it died pretty sure im going to keep him solo until he gets larger. I plan on releasing him into a near by lake eventually thats very large and clean (thats why I like to keep his diet mostly live so he knows how to catch things and i know ur not supposed to but hes never been sick or hurt and the tank has never had another fish other than wild caught natives) and has plenty of little fish around. I plan on letting him go when he reaches about 10-12 inches just wouldnt feel good about my self keeping him in a 65 at that size. Most likely will reach that size by some point in the summer then I will probably get a red fin pickerel and a brown bull head maybe a crappie. Used to have a snapping turtle for years before I decided it was his time to go back to the wild and I got the bass.

Bass are very susceptible to common aquaria diseases and do not take well to meds. Feeding live is a sure way to introduce diseases to this bass and releasing it could put the whole lake in danger. A fish in the aquarium should never be released even if it is a native from that body of water. Actions like this could lead to more laws such as a ban on native fish keeping. Either find it a new home or harvest it. A good option would be to freeze it and use it as a frozen food for other fish, but releasing a fish is never an option ( its also illegal)
