naa man your 2 c is great, i have him housed with a dempsey, mayan, convict, low grade flowerhorn,n parrot fish. i just dont want him gettin hurt so im prob gonna get rid of my flowerhorn and parrot eventually, my goal at the end of this all is to have my jag, dempsey, mayan and convict peacefully coexisting in my 125 g ,i know theres gonna be squabbles and such but its watever i just know im gonna have to get rid of the flowerhorn tho

Way too small to work with what you have. Mayans can be nasty...but this is whats going to happen. Everything is going to be cool, then one day when your Jag is bigger the kill switch is going to go off. Your going to come home/wake up to 3 brutally murdered cichlids and a male jag that just claimed a 125g to himself. Parachromis claim large territories and don't play nice with others.

I can see him one day owning the mayan n convict but its gonna take a lot for him to beat the Dempsey any time soon, maybe when hes about 7 inches, the dempseys ahead in growth by like 2 inches but the thing is hes catching up wich is scary cuz he grew atleast an inch in less than a month. the jags my favorite so i wouldn't mind just him in the 125 but im really hoping that he can live wit the other 3 somehow, what do u think

I agree dempseys are tough and a convict packs a wallop for its size. I'd be scared to put my baby jag with the same size convict.

That 1"+ a month growth rate and those parachromis teeth are hard to over come though. It could work, but the odds are stacked against all the others in a 125g with a male jag. My buddy had a 16" male with a female in a 150g all was good for awhile then he woke up one morning to a decapitated female jag. She was 10-12" herself for comparison.

I just remembered...Another guy I know had a male 16"+ in a 275g came home from work. To a half eaten female and every other prized fish in the tank murdered. I'm keeping mine solo for a reason lol

Iv had a very aggressive female jag that it put in her place by my Dempsey. Then the red devil started acting up and again te Dempsey put the devil in its place. Never started fights but always finished them. Jags arnt really good at lip locking they seem to give up easier iv found. I also had a big 13 inch male jag that was peaceful but defended himself against others. Always seemed to give up on te lip locks and just puff up.
