forgot something on my list: Thai Ridgeback (the blue color is my favorite by far).

Thread's really making me want a dog as if I didn't before. I just wish I had a reliable roommate for when I go away. I guess I kind of will in a few weeks: keeping my parent's 3 mini schnauzers while they go on a cruise. Wish I had more time to work with them. My mom does absolutely nothing with them, so they have some "issues".

I may be getting back into the dog game as my neighbor might be moving. He told me that dogs but not pit bulls are allowed in the building he might be relocating to so he might have to hand his seven month old pit over to me.....

Here are my three.Zoey is the first,a husky mix,The second is Gunnar my 10 week old German Shepherd, and third Sam our long haired Dachsund.

Just wondering how many people on MFK are serious dog people. Like are there any serious dog trainers? Does any one do any dog sports like ring sport or schutzhund competive agility? And does any own serious working dogs, Malinois, Dutch shepherd, etc. does anyone work in the animal shelter system?

Hey Mike,

Even though this is last year post, but I do have 2 dogs, and I train them pretty seriously. They listen extremely well. For example to teach them manners, I put their food down and ask them to sit, wait, then I say okay "eat" And they're doing really good with that since they will not eat unless I say so. This really teaches them patience and manners. I would love to do it as a job since a lot of time when I see people take their pets to Petsmart and have the trainers there help them, but to me it doesn't seem like its working because their technique doesn't work well. I would love for my dogs to do sport, I know one of the two loves games, and he'll be able to do that.
