My 22inch widebar dat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry i missed this a few days ago.

He actually ate the first time in about 2weeks yest. He grabbed his usual favorite nonlive food (spiny goby). He normally eats 1 or 2 a day, but will go on strikes here n there. Such a high maintanance fish, but so worth the extra work involved.lol Thanks for inquiring bro

Hope your new ST is thriving for ya btw

That's good to hear..yeah they can be finicky at times....does he eat anything else other spiny goby? just curious...

Just them..since he was about 14inch or so. Before that is was just whole frozen gungeonfish and night crawlers. About 3years ago i had to find alternative food for him. The asian supermarket stopped carrying the gobyfish for roughly 4months so i started feeding live Xlarge shiners from the baitstore for a while. Kinda stunk cause i had to operate a whole other tank for the shiners. (and it smelled with everything i fed them) Kept them in a sep tank for about a week and got them back to health and stomachs full before i fed them to him. Takes about a week to get him back on these frozen spiny goby's again the couple times i did it. He just loves these gobyfish

He's never liked shrimp, fish fillet, pellets, etc.I used to starve him bigtime when he was under 8inch. Just refused everything but whole freshwater fish & somethimes nightcrawlers (which he spits out now) All my other dats would eat other stuff, not him

my dats are the same, very finicky and everyone had their own diet and their own way of being fed, good to hear its doing well. Hope mine get that big.

Amazing fish.

Massive respect for raising a fish for that long! You don't see that as much anymore :(
