Well after 30 years in the fish keeping hobby ive decided to quit

Jim is the one destroying all his equipment and giving up 30 years in the hobby and Joe is the one, the only one, defending his actions.

I fully support MFK and even though a few of us have had a few not so nice words I completely stand behind the mods. They do an amazing job even though the interwebs are evolving in a dark direction. It seems like their job gets harder and harder every day now that ever Tom, Dick & Biggles has Internet via their cellphone. Keep up the good work.

Jeez, I go away for the weekend and look at what I missed.
To be honest the OP asked for this by going public with it, Li did nothing but state the process buy which someone becomes a mod. You don't walk in off the street and go from member to global, so to even request that is ridiculous. I've been modding for a few months and still have a lot to learn before I would even consider (or be considered for) becoming a global, there is a lot to learn about the inner workings of the site, the rules, protocol, etc. We (the staff) discuss many issues off line and don't always agree with each other but as a team a consensus is reached and the system works well. There is quite a bit that goes on, so once you do become a mod you may not be as visible in the open forum as you were before in some instances but that is because you're busy doing other administrative things that are not seen. Pulse this is all voluntary so we work during are spare time. Some of the time that was spent posting is now spent reviewing threads, posts moving things around etc.
I think this is a great site and Li is very dedicated and passionate about its continued success. MFK has a lot of very knowledgeable members and while we're far from perfect and do make mistakes (the decision made about the OP was not a mistake) we all work together (members and staff) to keep MFK the best fish forum on the internet. Unfortuatly you can't make everyone happy 100% of the time.
Li, on a personal note I'm sorry for the loss suffered by you and your family. It's a shame you had to deal with this nonsense on a day like yesterday. The fact you even got involved with this on a such a day speaks volums about you dedacation to this forum and the hobby.

First off, I have no idea who this Jiim is. I am not a friend of his. From reading this thread it seems like he has mental and emotional problems. Anyone reading this can see that. So basically I am sticking up for a disturbed individual who is being called out and ridiculed on two public fish forums. As I posted before, crap like this has no business being on a fish forum. I joined MFK to share my fish knowledge with other members. If you read through my posts you will see that I have helped many members on this site. I don't feel that I have been rude to anyone. If I am no longer welcome here, just say so and I will stop posting.
