i know right, anyways there is no doubt in my mind that a bigger dovii would smoke a midas, but if they're the same size there is a 50% chance the midas will win
Doviis are real durable and tough with big bites. They are the toughest cichlid starting at sub adults man pants down.

For me it's been Hemichromis Fasciatus. My 3" Fasciatus kill 4 dovii the same size and whooped a Devil probably twice it's size. I do aggree that all fish are different. IME H. Fasciatus has been the craziest fish I've ever owned.
Here is a quick vid I took over a year ago. His right gill was showing at the time of this vid and I had to pull out the 4 other fasciatus due to this guy jacking them up. Left corner are 3 dovii's same size pinned in.

Like I said, this is just my experience.
My male is about 10-11" now if you were wondering
First off your referring to an African cichlid so doesn't belong in this section. Second how does this relate to differences in dovii and Umbee? You have to also realize the age and maturity differences of hemichromis and dovii at smaller sizes. The hemichromis are closer to adult whereas dovii at that size are still technically babies in their development. So not comparable IMO
