  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Still kind of new to fish. And this I've never seen. What is it exactly? A plecostomus or a cat? And how much

This is a Goonch catfish "Bagarius Bagarius" closely related to "Bagarius Yarrelli" which aired on river monsters a couple seasons ago. This species is considered the "dwarf" of the group. Not a ton of info on them though. Price is $200 at this size, increases as size increases.

I think you may have the wrong ID. This was confirmed B. Bagarius by Rob "Chicxulub" (guy who created Goonch ID thread). And after much research, I've come to agree.

ryan that cat makes me drool!!!

Well guys, no luck with the bloodworms or brine shrimp:( looks like I'll be feeding some of my guppies to him with in the next few days if he rejects food the next few tries. I know they're stubborn sometimes for the first week or so so I'm not stressing right now. Any suggestions? Thanks-Sterling

I totally wish but the largest tank I have right now is a 150 and I can't upgrade any time soon :(

No worries; this variant won't get over a foot long. A 150 would be fine for life.

That's not a Bagarius at all. That's a Sisorid catfish from the genus Glyptothorax. There's way too many of them for me to be able to spot them all right off hand, but I can tell you 100% that's no goonch.
