tank mate help for albino bichirs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Bichirs are nocturnal??? Try telling that to mine lol they are always out cruising around lol. My BGK is the most docile fish I have I hand feed him and he is very content with his hiding spot and never causes any trouble my tank is a good size though so they never really see each other apart from feeding time but even so they never look at each other when they are together they are just trying to get some food and relax. BTW I know they are nocturnal I was just being funny

lol most of the bichirs would be active in day time one accustomed to feeding schedule, They're still nocturnal in my case cause I'm only in the house when it's nighttime due to my line of work. :nilly: Still they're the same as ever, feed them night or day they'll go chomp everything, I was planning also to get a BGK, but have no budget cause I'm still saving for a asian Aro and some rays...

goodluck saving for ur asian aro and rays... and btw asian aros are quite cheap here, bt not sure abt shipping though.... a green aro with certificate, microchip and abt 12inches is only abt $75... guess wt a 4 inch BGK is only $1.90... and the cheapest i hav seen in a store is red tail shark $0.38 (2 inches)

Same price for in here in the Philippines, but I'mma save up for a Banjar Red 150$+/- Or an RTG 349$+/- and dedicate a indoor pond for them preferably 500-900g size or so, hehe... gonna have like 2-4pcs so gonna save up really... And yeah for the said set up it will be likely to be successful, a 4" BGK can go swim within those bichirs.

great, anyways i m gettin a BGK which is abt 6inches atleast coz i cant take a risk... at the store my bichirs were with a 4 inch aba aba knife and its said to have eaten the aba aba... i m nt sure whether it is true though

aba aba knifefish is quite a lot of cash to spend than most of the available bichirs... It's pretty cool for it to have a BGK as a tankmate, dunno if it works tho, but just be wary of the Bichirs your keeping, most of the fish in LFS are underferd and would eventually attack any potential food so sorry for that aba aba...

Expensive snack lol guess they were pretty damn hungry. I've seen that setup before, as EC said though you may want to add extra filtration or go for an upgrade sooner then imagined.
