I decided to start breeding the fancys along with the mollys, seeing as though I got a red tail barracuda grow out now and he needs little fish for a bit

anything different then breeding molly? I have that down, and I've done platy before, but never fancy guppy

will the fry be able to grow in my fry tank w/ my molly fry?

will the group of guppys be able to live okay with the group of breeding mollies?

I have had good luck with getting my preds on dead foods but this barracuda will be a challenge to get off live I'm told, so I want a good, fast multiplying source for him (guppys) and for my water snake.

I'm not worried about extra fry, ever since my first breeding experiment I know to not keep 300 fry in one 10 ga tank haha so I go trade em in at the LFS for credit or a straight trade for a prego molly. or just put em in with the parents.

thanks for the input guys!

I've noticed that guppy fry go to the top, where platy/Molly/swordtail seem to seek cover towards the bottom. Dense floating plants is highly recommended if you're leaving the fry with the parents.

I separate the fry from the parents, usually by taking out the parent from the comm, quick acclimation, the putting her into the breeder box in the fry tank. Then I just rotate the fry tank over and basically dump them in the tank after they start swimming for a couple days at least, where they stay till dinn dinn for the preds. More stress on the parents I've found is better then more stress on the fry
