Virgil sounds as if he wasn't given the option to pay and was turned away because he didn't register or something.
 
You may have been not allowed to enter the speaker events, but strictly because you hadn't registered.

It's open to everyone, but the event isn't free. No one was stopping people from browsing vendors, but other than that, the rest of the convention revolved around the auction and the speakers. Those were registration required events.

Everyone had to pay to get in, even the people who busted their butts working the whole time. Why should one person get in for free when everyone else has to pay?


I had a great weekend, meeting people and putting faces to screen names. Making new friends and seeing old ones. Not to mention all the awesome fish nerdery! It was a lot of work but definitely well worth it. Thanks everyone for koming and having a blast!

I don't know who started the idea that someone wanted to get in without paying but it just keeps coming up...when or where did someone mention that they wanted to get in for free?
 
There was no mention in this thread about wanting free admission.I tried to get an answer to why I was not allowed to pay on saturday at the door for 1 day admission.it seems sunday had a 10 dollar admission from what I can tell
