Well worth the money? fly river turtle

Are the wrinkles on the shell normal? What "flaws" do you guys see on the turtle?

Maybe the usual in Canada. They're going for about $1200 here at that size

The sad thing is, Canada has ceased exports for FRT from what i've heard from the storekeepers that used to sell them. it's fortunate for the wild population though. So the prices of the FRT in canada are rapidly increasing. The cheapest ones I could find now are around 500-800 bucks for 6-8 inchers. Better get them before it's too late. Even 2-3 years ago, you could buy them for 200-300 each.

Same in the US. Those prices are still cheap compared to here. If I saw them for that price, i'd buy 5

This guys is selling his collection of 4 FRTs for 1600 bucks (2 male, 2 females). He has continuously posted it for around 2 years now and no one has bought it yet. it used to be 1200 for 4 until now.

They are nice. I have a larger one but sometimes it bites the other fishes in the tank. My friend have his at a lower temperature so it would bite less. My FRT will bite on giraffe nose cats, L114 plecos, and bichirs. My friends have less biting issues with a primary diet of fruits and vegetable for the FRT. In addition to the temperature being lower. It's a turtle that I want to keep so I have avoid certain fishes. You should check to see what fishes are in the same tank currently with them. They go for about $100 per inch here. Good Luck.

i have a chance to get a 8 inch fly river turtle for a real good price. I am wondering if this turtle looks healthy to you. There are some white stuff near the nose and a black smudge near the bottom of the mouth.
Is the rough looking shell look normal too? I'm no expert but the turtle looks pretty healthy. just making sure if it has fungus or anything.
Here are some pics:
Looks good to me and yeah the rough looking shell is normal.

$400. Cheapest I could find in around 2 years in exception to 200 dollar hatchlings.
That is a good price, cheapest I've seen them here in the states was $700 about 2 years ago. Good luck with him it's just too bad your trying to get rid or the Arm, it would be a pretty awesome display having an Arm and FRT sharing a tank.
