As of Monday the Betta bowl project has come to an abrupt stop...
Unfortunately Jill didn't make it, I got so frustrated that I ended up just throwing everything away when I was cleaning up the mess.
The moral of the story: use toggle bolts instead of being lazy and using screw in anchors

The shelf I had on the wall above the tank fell down and smashed everything; it made quite a mess!
Thanks and yeah, I do plan on giving it another go and I'll make sure to update this thread when I get the next one started!
this is so cool. i have a betta in a ten gallon (which can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDROEVDoJBw ) and ive wanted to plant his tank for so long. i might try to do something like this on winter break. great post!
edit. oh man i just saw what happened. bummer :-( i would be pretty upset if my betta ended up dying.
