Is this the apple snail that gets as large as a baseball?

The largest species is reportedly Pomacea maculata. It reaches about 6 1/2" in diameter. Unfortunately, the larger species have been banned in the US as an invasive species detrimental to the environment and agriculture. Aside from destroying entire rice farms, the genus is known to harbor a parasite called the rat lung worm.
I don't know about a baseball but the apple snails we get here in florida get really big here's a pic of one of the bigger shells I've found and my hands are pretty big lol

Some one locally is selling Florida apple snails, which may be the one pictured. Its listed as paludosa. If it gets as big as the one you have pictured I would be inerested.

Who wouldn't want a monster snail. I was going it to get three. One for the 125, 75, and cube. They would have been awesome. Just wish I knew it was the right snail. Otherwise I would be back to my original problem.
