Thanks! After owning several aros, i've come to the conclusion that you pay for what you get.

Nice GH..Groom it well.
Both its parents (Golden Crossback and Super Red) must be AA grade aros too :D

Appreciate the kind words. How can you tell if it's parent was a super red? I don't believe this is a tong yan.

Here's an update pic for yall. Sorry about poor iphone quality. Aro hard to snap while moving; and i'm too lazy to grab dslr. Probably couldn't even use it even if i wanted to.

Happy fish keeping

Well Gold head are a crossbreed between a Super Red and XB as full helmet(full color on head) is a feature of Red aros :)
Hope to see more updates on this beauty of urs :)

With asian aros, you pay for what you get.

Amen. The cheapest green/banjar and the most expensive VIP gold albino chilli leopard ferrari red are going to cost the same to keep, so spending a few more $$ at the time of purchase is a wise move. You've got a lovely looking fish, more pics please!

Thanks! Learn something new all the time! Guess the reds were the first to have the gold head feature? Love this about the forum; positive contribution from cool members.

So true!!! They all cost the same to feed and care for. Why not get the best and have no regrets?

Here's some more pics including full tank shot.

Here's another blurry pic i just snapped...really showing off the color. Please dont mind the drop scale lol

Why do you keep the aro in a white tank still are you scared that if you place it in a different colour tank the shine level will drop

I have seen a lot of gold heads and 24k get drop eye lately I think they are over exposes to WTT

To maintain a GH u need to keep it in a white tank at least till it reaches 15-16 inches else the shine will ofcourse drop. WTT is mostly recommended in a fibre glass tank aka white FGT where u can leave the water level to say 1 feet, coz low water level is preferred in fgt. All golden xbs must go through WTT for early shine development on 5th and 6th level scale, faster pearlies development, for fishes that came from a good lineage, earlier development of golden lines or even golden head is necessary.
Thus, it is not surprising that the majority of farms are now using the white fibregrass to raise young xbacks. Do not fear buying 'white' xbacks, the more white washed ur GHXB is, the more the gold tone will intensify when u transfer the fish in a black tank.
