Not sure how my original post has been modified 4 days ago.... this suggests an issue with the board security or an ethics issue

Not sure what happened there bud. It is not an ethics issue I can assure you that, it looks like a glitch in editing a post (forum issue). It fixed it for you. Have a great day.

Got a note that the OP of the quote requested a modification but the post now loses all relevance and content. Most other boards let posts with quote stand if they are within the rules, often there is restricted edit times. lets just move on...

My wife fed shrimp stuffed with pellets last night. She dropped 6 shrimp and the arowana got 2 and the puffer ate 4. By dropping them all in at the same time the puffer seems to be able to get them easier.

I'm sure the puffer will get to a point where it comes to the surface to take the food from your fingers, or chopsticks or whatever. Have you tried showing the puffer the food through the glass? I've seen a lot of videos on youtube of people doing this to get them to come to the surface.

He gets a little cautious because of the arowana and flagtail swimming above him but I'm not sure why. I've never seen any aggression. Maybe he's still a little shy. At least he's eating.

Man this guy is no longer shy. He is full of character and attitude. He got sick of the 24" Arowana and nipped 1" off both of his pectoral fins. He definitely rules this tank. He is eating mostly clams and oysters now. Impressive jaw strength on these guys. He chews through oyster and clam shells like nothing. At 14" he is a force to be reckoned with.

My 4-5" little guy eats the carni sticks I feed my Aro. No training, I just feed the Aro first so he gets full and leaves the snails etc alone. The little piggy Mbu got tired of waiting and started eating the sticks. Unfortunately, he sometimes gets full before his food comes. I dread the day I have to start filing teeth. If it becomes necessary I was going to try a dremmel.

Once I realized this guy was sick, and treated him, I decided to feed clams. They are easy to get at Costco. I just freeze them and soak them in vitamins before I feed him. He is eating lots but hasn't grown much. I still feed pellets but he has no interest in them. I don't think these guys are designed to eat pellets. These teeth need clams. He is well acclimated now and eating like a pig. 4-5 clams, and a few shrimp every 2 days . My arowana is no longer eating pellets now but there are worse things I guess. They are all getting along now and the arowana is growing back his fins. I haven't had any more incidents of late. Everyone knows where they stand in the pecking order.

Gosh.....

since i see you have experience with aros and the MBU, i was thinking about getting one for my 180, building a 800 gallon in my garage right now, currently i have a 6 inch motoro stingray(disc size), 13" clown knife, and a 10" Florida gar. what i have heard is that "people" think that the stingrays eyes will be in danger, yet no one can give me solid experience or evidence that is the case. all of my tanks are bare bottom anyways so its not like the ray would be buried with only the eyes poking out. do you think this could work?
