Lol, when oregon played them a few years ago all the papers here ran stories about war eagle nickname. Theres a bunch of them but the most prevalent one was about a game a long time ago where tigers had a personally grudge against a defensive player and used war eagle as the play call to run the ball at this player all game long. The crowd caught on and started chanting it and its stuck ever since
