NOS 29gal Metaframe

My first tank was a 10 gallon Metaframe, Xmas 1970. My dad made a cover out of screenwire for me. I saved my allowance and got the dual incandescent light stainless steel cover. Next I got a state of the art undergravel filter. I saved more and got a used 5. Fast forward via my DeLorean with Flux Capacitor and I have about 800 gallons in water now. When I am done getting over this surgery, I will put my 700 together.

Thanks for posting all the literature along with your 'new' old stock aquarium.

Would you be able to post a nice close up of the literature that shows all the tank sizes and dimensions? I've got a garage full of these tanks of various sizes that I'd like to attach an accurate tank size to them.
 
Hello; I have one like that. The glass is scratched from someone using something coarse to clean it. It is a 29 gallon with a slate bottom. Too scratched now for a display tank but has been a breeding setup and holdong tank a few times. Last time I had water in it I believe the slate was seeping water. I also have a stainless light fixture for it. These tanks were common back in the day and I have often wished I had picked up a couple more. Good find. I like the way a stainless tank looks.

Sure! After I get the lid, I'll post some more pictures of the aquarium along with some high-quality scans of the product catalog.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of chrome/stainless on everything. I'm like one of those birds attracted to shiny objects. A trick that many people do when the slate starts leaking is to put an equivalent sized piece of glass right on top of the slate, then reseal the tank to that glass. Luckily I haven't had to do this yet, my 10 gal is still holding up.
