I have a little Sony point/shoot that isn't too bad. I also carry the Nikon D3100 for a little bit better quality shot.
For flash, I try not to use it on a tank. If I do, it's always a game getting the right angle to avoid catching the reflection, but still lighting up the inside of the tank. Overhead/over tank lighting usually works the best.
