Taking the gamble :headbang2I think! Just remember guys I have someone to give it to or could always sell it on the MFK marketplace. I can always rush getting the 180 if needed maybe even down to a year.

Which store is this by the way...I'm also in Pa.

Mines took at least 2 or more years to grow to 12". Started them in a 100 gallon tank and than into the 175 gallon tank. They grow very slow compared to the shovel nose and red tail cats. I got them trained on floating pellets. So they will feed anytime of day when food is in there. You have to start them on floating pellets and only floating pellet. Put the food on the filter return so it goes down under the water surface. They will eventually learn to come up to the top. They are much more interesting if you can get this massive thorny cat to come up to the top with the smell of food. They are one of my favorite cats. My friends only feed their Irwini cats with sinking food and they never comes to the surface for food. Good Luck.

Elmers aquarium, it's in southwestern PA. They always have all sorts of rare fish including cats. Right now they have a 16" achara, 16" vulture, 6" chaca chaca, Indian moth catfish, watermelon panaque, irwini that's hiding with some geos, and a bunch more. And that's just catfish!

Thanks man glad people are supporting me with this cat. I'd love to have a top feeding cat (pretty much my dream idea of a fish).

Looks like I'm doing this then and I'll try to follow my plan as best I can!

DORADIDS FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!

I'll make another thread once I order the fish (just to make sure that's what I'm getting) about advanced care for these guys, I like to care for all my fish as best I possibly can!

The floating pellets sounds like a good training tactic to get them to come out and show off their beauty.

Well I talked to guy at my LFS (my friend personally) and somebody bought the irwini for their 240 community :(. He did say they often get them in people just rarely see them apparently. So he can order me some easily but the place they get them from only has them in medium and regular size (as opposed to small or large). Not really sure what size that what be 4",6",8"? That could really make a difference in whether I get one or not. Supplier for them is seagrest farms, have any of you ever got one from there because I'm not sure what "medium" size means it them. If it's 6 inches or less that's fine but any bigger may risk it outgrowing the tank to quick. What do you guys think should I order it anyways even though it doesn't say "small"?
