FedEx is a Joke

When it comes to fedex I will always hold from now on.

The water wasn't really warm when I got the fish...but the fish wasn't frozen.

I had fish sit at O'hare airport outside for two hours...fish (blue girdled angel) was floating in a "u" shape, revived and is alive years later after slowly warming the bag with my body heat.

Shipping cold increases DO, reduces metabolism, and is reversible.

Heating a fish too much on the other hand does the opposite, and also causes non reversible damage.

FLESHY, I hope you like this additional story...Recently, I ordered my wife some ear rings (three sets) for Valentines day on line. The seller only used FED-EX. On the day of the delivery, I left work early and waited for them to arrive. It eventually became pretty late, so i looked online for tracking info and found out that FED-EX claimed that it was already delivered! I called their CUSTOMER SUPPORT and told them the story and they said that they would investigate. Sure enough, the next day when I arrived home from work I found a driver knocking on my door. He was two hours early. Maybe hoping I wasn't home? Any way, he began to tell me that he left a package on my front porch..A few more minutes and he said that it was an envelope that he placed in my mailbox. Clearly, he was either flat out lying or honestly didn't remember. Two days later, I was at the doctors office and I missed a call from FED-EX. When I listened to the message, it was claiming that the investigation was over and that they had determined that the driver DID INDEED leave the parcel at my address! And it was either stolen from my house...or I was lying! I contacted the seller about getting the order replaced. The next day, I was getting out of the shower after work and walking into the living room, out of the corner of my eye, I see a FED-EX truck pull up in front of my house and before I could get there and open the door, He quickly sped off. I figured that the moron had maybe left a copy of the "investigation" on my door or something, but instead, I found the beat-up, filthy envelope that he snuck back and left. (God knows where it had been for three days.) I called FED-EX. The driver was questioned and said that he never came back to my house and claimed I was lying. A supervisor came to my house two days after that also defending FED-EX and the driver. I found out that none of their trucks are equipped with a GPS system that clearly would've proved everything I'd said since day one. What a scumbag! What a group of unprofessional idiots. I will never, EVER give them my business and hopefully information like yours and mine will help them to lose a little more money!

did you here the one abut the fedEx delivery gut that wanted to be a NFL kicker? he was practicing from his truck.

I have allot more trust in UPS. all I use at work.

I've always had an issue with FedEx too bro, they suck. I'm a UPS guy!

Hard to maintain standards across the map.

I really wish more vendors allowed you the choice - that way people could at least choose what works best for them locally. Im sure there's a reason behind not doing it that way, but with all the issues Ive had with Fedex locally it would seem that more vendors might consider it.

I realize that there are probably exclusive contracts or whatever for reduced rates - but if the vendor has to replace fish its in their best interest to trust the customer on what works best for them locally.

I unfortunately will have no choice but to use them again, as it seems like the only shipper most aquarium stores use.

I really hope all of your stuff was okay at the very least, and that maybe even if Fedex didnt believe you that your wife did.

Funny you say that. I have a fedex account that I to this day never use, in the beginning we only did airport to airport now we use usps for small stuff under 10in and ap to ap for sensitive or large fish/orders. I listen to the customer but at the same time want what's best for the fish to arrive safe and sound.
