Its a comparison of 2 dead things, it obviously has nothing to do with it haha, but both are still practiced by a small segment of the population who refuse to let it die

Racism should die, but I kinda enjoyed my horse and carriage ride when I was in New York ;)

Yes, i think itll all come into play. Hes being terminated on character right? Does statue of limitation come into play when we're talking character assassination? Dude didnt do anything illegal in the recording

And yes shame on everyone who knew but didnt do a thing until public backlash

exactly ...their is no right to ownership in the NBA ,OUR FRIEND rmkblades is about to find that out VERY PAINFULLY..lol....the NBA doesn't have to allow ownership ..to anybody ,and they certainly aren't going to risk a player strike over a family everybody in the league wants gone anyway..

I didn't mean it doesn't help the story. just that the part that's enforceable with the NBA, are his directives to V Stiviano, in recordings.

I have to politely disagree with whats enforceable. Im not gonna pretend to be a lawyer or well versed in the binding contracts but i will use what happen to frank mccourt (dogders owner) to support my opinion. They are very different cases but whats happening with sterling is far more damaging to the nba then what mccourt did (took a loan to help pay for team operation but was depending on a new television contract to cover everything) and how it effected mlb. They just wanted him out and the loan was the angle they took. It went through appeals, injections, divorce and bankruptcy drama but in the end they forced a sale (wife got half the dough). I see this playing out the same.

The angle i expect to be played is hes racist and heres how we know and its bad for business and we want him out. I dont think they need anything anymore criminal or damming. Is it fair? Prob not. Wont change the outcome though

this thing (effectively) will be over faster than you think...Sterling IS ALREADY GONE ...Mccourt as I remember never got banned, just forced out..this is as you say ,different in tone and structure

Wasnt banned but lost all control of team instantly. They took over just as they effectively have now

ok:).. my contention is this thing is over ..THE STERLING family,as far as I can tell, will NEVER have a controlling say in the team from here on, probably including the sale, my guess is the league will broker it..

I think you & I are just misunderstanding each others' points regarding "NBA enforcement".
All I'm saying is: In 2006, the DOJ brought housing discrimination charges against Sterling, and the NBA never disciplined him for Association-contract violations. So far, they're still only using his new violations.
The Association's lack of prior action may not be something they want to bring up now.
I'm only basing this on Sterling & other NBA member statements.
IF it was useful, (I think) they would already be using it.

time will tell ;)

I resent you attempting the analogy to horses here. there exists no inherently amoral connection between the two subjects.
Lol. but seriously.

it is not bad using horses in various ways, it does still have a place today. that's not dead just because you can't relate to it, living in NY.
practicing racism is not comparable at all :)

Do you ignore the lawsuits just because he got screwed by his mistress? Its not like he didnt have a track record. Go demand answers from the people who knew. The general public and the posters on here didnt know. The sponsors who withdrew and the charities rejecting his checks right now didnt know. The brand new commissioner whos been on the job 3 months didnt know nor should he be held responsible for the previous commish turning a blind eye.

Call people hypocrites, demand answers, yell poor sterling all you want but dont try to pretend a good man with a good track record was spied on and sent to jail, he lost a privilege. I dont think a single person has said the fact it was a private convo was acceptable. It really does suck for him imo...but its out. Go sue her and call her out. No amount of damage control could change that the recordings are out. We all now know.
