my neighbor has these pretty plants. I wondered what they were, the flowers are pretty. then I realized after the pedals fell off that they were opium plants

Yes it is very illegal. Opium comes from a poppy. There are many different types of poppy plants. He probably has one of the legal versions.

Before bloom is when they look like the pods that you see on old Vietnam docu and middle east docu. As was said there's many many poppy species and most people don't even know which ones are which, all of them contain the good stuff, just to varying degrees.

Even eating a poppy seed bagel everyday for a while can make you test positive for em
