That is a beauty for sure.. very high on my want list. So many fish, never enough tanks to satisfy the cravings!

cuban and grammodes ive heard are great but not kept.. grammodes is a mini dovii and cuban a mini black nasty, they are what people who like these monsters should be keeping in their 90g instead of jamming huge cichlids in them!-)

I used to have a 75g that was divided. Grammodes on one side, cuban on the other. You're not kidding when you say mini haitiensis lol. We all know grammodes are mini dovii.


Grammodes, Cuban, Mayan, and buttikoferi.

Are easily my favorite hard to choose which are best.

It was interesting, grammodes was a underhanded killer. Only killing his tankmates at night. Most aggressive cichlid IMO.
Cuban on the other hand, would defend their territory with all they got. Most territorial cichlid IMO.
Mayan cichlids are pretty tough, damn. They can hold their own fairly well. I just love the way they look, which is why they're one of my favorite.
Buttikoferi, I think we all know why this glutton is awesome full of personality. Tbh, I think no other cichlid has more personality than a buttikoferi. Oscar, sure... but the aggression too? no way man. !
