Huh? They've played like 40+ games with him. Why do I need to zero in on St. Louis and one half a game? The records under kap speak for itself.

I freaking hate the guy but I'm positive that aside from 5-6 teams, you'd be thrilled if he were on your team. Time to start giving props and recognition. Id hate to be up by less then a TD with that guy driving down the field with time running out.

I been a supporter of Kaep since day one. Some days I am left scratching my head and some games I am jumping for joy but you're right.. I am thankful to have him as a QB. In a few years this kid will be something amazing. I was really excited to see him read through his prgressions this year. Very little turn over and our oline has had him running for hia life so I am thankful we have what we do right now. He has improved a lot this off season.

WTF who saw Dallas coming on strong? I would have lost my ass in Vegas on that Seattle game. I am happy that of the only two 5-1 teams left, SF was the "1". So early in the season still though

I think I lot of people aren't on the Kap bandwagon due to the inconsistency ... no one can deny the talent, but sometimes the gunslinger mentality (even though he runs at times) leads to some bad mistakes. To me he is in the same mold of Farve/Romo/Cutler ... not the skill set of course, but that "I'm going to go with the ball where I want no matter what" which can pay off big, but can also hurt you bad at times. Unless you are a fan of those teams or qb's, you are always amazed when they do come through because you are so used to them throwing an interception when it counts.

Which is why I'm not fond of Kap ... well one of the reasons (sniffing his pit after a score and playing for Santa Clara being a few of the others). I prefer the more consistent types. Alex Smith with the current receivers would scare me more than Kap. But I enjoy efficiency at the QB though. I was yelling at Ryan (well, the TV) during that Tampa Bay game for trying to force the ball into double teams, despite the fact he only had 3 incomplete passes that game.

Alex smith would have a lower ceiling. At this point, especially after what they accomplished last year with the lack of receivers, its time to recognize that the 3-4 runs or great throws a game that kap makes to extend drives or win games are more then alex smith game managing could do. Theyre great plays. Theyre the same crap you applaud Russell Wilson for doing. He makes less mistakes but as a result of taking less risks he finds himself in close games, really no different then the mistake induced close games kap finds himself in. maybe you don't blame Russell for the pathetic pass game because he didn't throw an INT but I'm blaming him for not consistently hitting open WRs while kap is trying and taking blame for trying. Same end result IMO. Come end of year kap will know what he can and cant do. We'll be praying that Russ has figured it out or begging him to run or beastmode to take over.

Ps, my point with the first post was that no matter who you plug in, any decent QB will have SF winning because of the d and run game, kap takes em next level. Of course smith could win there too.

I agree with you 100%. I will say though as a fan its scary knowing how much rely on the defense and have so many missing components with suspensions and injuries. Kaep will click and get into his grove.

Lower ceiling, but much higher consistency. I'm not talking about trying to hit an open receiver and missing, I'm talking about throwing into double and triple coverage because he thinks he can make it. Farve did it. Romo does it. When someone is triple covered, there is another receiver open. Wilson throws the ball away a lot. And I'm cool with that, rather than try to force it into double coverage. In the Denver game, the OT drive Wilson put together ... no fear he'd do something stupid and turn the ball over. Zero. Had it still been Hasselbeck from back in the day, I would have been on the edge of my seat praying to the football gods to not let him throw an interception.

A loss is a loss, but I find it much more frustrating to lose with a turnover killing your game winning/tying drive than I do just not making plays to continue it.

Depends lol but i know u know football ( on someone else being open) so i won't talk down to you. IMO, kap throws game killing INTs far less then anyone mentioned. Far far less. It's not often i see him doing that in a crucial situation. Where as farve and romo you could gurantee it every close game. I mean 3 straight years as a young buck with the Super Bowl within reach. Not many can say that

I think smith would have them trailing more often after slow starts and not have the guts or moxy to pull back to even....he'd just to try to make the safe play. Reid is trying to get him to take more risks. Thats a short pass, screens and check down happy offense and hes still being asked to throw it more. Alex smith is who we thought he was. Kap is the most explosive duel threat in the game right now. Only debate able when comparing luck. Luck is throwing far more INTs though
