Oh okay,thanks for answering.

I was wondering the same thing about a round/circular tank! Gotta be worth a try for an awesome species like that.

When I finally do my BIG tank of 2500 gallons or so (doubtlessly years away, but still) I fully intend for it to be one of the 3/4 round grotto aquariums from Dolphin Aquaculture. They have 12' and 15' tanks with an 8' viewing window. I'm liking the idea of a 12' tank with an overflow right in the middle and the return on the wall to create a whirlpool. Then I'd have a few Koralia 8s around the edge to help the flow if need be. This would give a river style tank with rounded edges to help preserve my big cats' noses. Plus, if I move back to Georgia, I can have ATF again and a big circle would be ideal for them as well.

I cannot be 100% sure of the ID with these pics but it appears right. http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=944

The only keeper of Gilded Catfish I have ever came across is RedTailRob (a member here too) http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=37028&hilit=+rob You can see a few other keepers on the PCF page.

I saw a 5"-er for $200 at a LFS 3 years ago but didn't have the accommodations.

Why use intentionally misleading title? ;) I thought I'd rough up your feathers a bit.

Dolphin Fiberglass Products has my personal endorsement as I bought two 4500 gal 13'x13'x5' from them and so far so good. Jack Broyl is good to deal with. Plenty of photos and prices included: http://www.aquaculturetanks.com/

I am filling the 4500 gal's as we speak http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33968&start=140
