Are Mealworms Unhealthy For Fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree it's his choice and it's up to him. It kind of becomes too much in the long run lol. Nothing against Jordy though and I apologise, he's a cool guy. God bless Jordy.

Jordy says Jordy loves Aros. :D hehe it's fun when I do it.

All the live MW sold around me are farmed raised in the USA.

MW aren't unhealthy, they just aren't very nutritious. But since you're gut-loading them with fish pellets, they should be fine as a staple. I'd also recommend stuffing pellets into those shrimp and fish fillets as well

Thank you for reminding me about this. I totally forgot I used to do this with crickets. Excellent idea. I love feeding a variety of diet.

Sorry unrelated question but what's your feed frequency with comets ? How many times a day or week and what quantity ?

Once or twice a week. I buy a packet and wait until the Snakeheads finish them. Then I feed something else. For example they had tilapia feeders last week and then Monday they had the comets. And then yesterday feeder guppies and gutloaded big mealworms for the juveniles and small ones for the baby Snakeheads.

Sure thanks.

I have a pike and after all possible efforts that thing is not eating anything except live food. Last time I got fatheads and this time I will get comets.

BTW what is gut loading ?

Feeding them. I drop a few pellets in my mealworm packet and they eat them. But I know there are those who just cut the end of the body and stick a pellet inside. I've done that with crickets when I was a kid for my Amazon Aro.

Edit: Can I see a pic of your pike?
