if it is a result of improper diet then it is ignorance.

if it is a result of improper diet to purposely achieve abnormally obese fish then it's cruel

if you like it, I don't care, but own up to it at least. admit that it is what you do and we can end the discussion here

they do not go hand in hand. only ignorant keepers make them two things go hand in hand. they should not be fed to the point of unhealthy proportions. doing so for your entertainment is a little messed up tbh

I would never overfeed my fish. I've done it and lost fish. Never again. Never ever ever again.
 
What if it's not accidental over feeding but an acquired taste done on purpose? It's not ignorance at that point. No different then had they been bred that way.

Overfeeding is wrong. there's no discussion there. I've done it and learned painful lessons.

Look fat goldfish do not need to be sick, and fat goldfish need not be fat from over feeding.
