Classic TV

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What I really miss is when shows were edited to 52 minutes to allow for only 8 minutes of commercials during the hour.
Today, the commercials are so long you can forget what it was you were trying to watch.

To you it's classic TV. To me, it's what I grew up on. 12 channel dial with only 3 working channels. Foil wrapped around the aerial to improve reception. And, turning on the console TV 10 minutes before the show so it has a chance to warm up.

Do you still watch these shows anymore?

The Andy Griffith Show, Beverly Hillbillies, The Honeymooners (hay dare Ralphy boy!), Mr. Ed (Willllllllber) LOL. I love Lucy, Daniel Boon, Leave it to Beaver and Burns and Allen.

Rabbit ears and smacking the side of the TV when reception was bad due to a loose tube (yes tubes) and the TV repairman came to the house.

Lol, JJ on Goodtimes made a joke once about the tv set having to warm up, I always wondered about that.

Is that the one where she noticed the sunrise and went blind again from staring at the sun?
That might have happened as it has been a while since I saw it last..
Then there is the weary traveler who stayed a stormy night in a castle and he was warned not to remove a walking staff from a certain door.Well, throughout the night the traveler kept hearing yells and screams from the room beyond the door and at some point the guy went and removed the staff to take a look into the room. When he did so a man emerged from the room, turned into a bat and flew out a window......it turned out that he had just released the devil himself into the world.
