They look like 1s. Here's my female best looking one out of a group of 4. Selling them though need more room for my cobra pikes.... ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1430431374.851740.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1430431401.225310.jpg
How many atabapo I did you get? Looks like you have a nice group.... I recommend feeding them pellets right off the bat don't even take the time to transition. Mine eat pellets like madmen. Thy school together and if one eats pellets they'll all watch it and eat pellets quickly too. Good luck and keep up with the updates

Yeah I was thinking 1s aswell.

They are a group of ten. Hoping to be able to keep 5-6 together when they grow up.

I had some tetras in the tank as starter fish but are all eaten now. I did see 3 of the pikes take regular flakes though! They all ate frozen!

Next week I Will only give pellets.

Gerry used to post on here quite a bit, took some awesome pictures too. Haven't seen him around for awhile. I think his user name was Chaitika.

Does anyone know anything about this tank? Counting 7 Atabapo Reds here and it looks super mellow in my eyes,

Is he just lucky there where no lucky couple or do they stress eachother out so the aggresiveness is kept out? (Like In a Malawi tank).

I remember he said they schooled really well and the arowana he said was the most aggressive fish and would push the pikes around the most. I think some lugubris pikes school even at larger sizes depending on the season.

I have 4 of them, 3M/1F. 2 males ate really well when they came in, 2 wouldn't eat at all so I pulled them out and medicated them with metro, prazi and clout. The two are eating now, although not aggressively - only when I leave the room, so I added the female back in to my 180 with Metynnis, Petenia, etc. Didn't go well.

One male is very pushy and has been since day 1 when all 4 were together. Thinking about putting the mellower males and the female in the tank and pulling the dominant male out. Never had aggression issues with any lugubris pikes - other than lents, so this was unexpected.

This is really interesting.... My group of 4 atabapo Is are voracious.... One of the most voracious pikes i have kept. Splashes water when I drop in NLS pellets for them comes to the front and even hand feeds with confidence... Got 2 males and 2 females. Eat any and everything... Debating on selling them id like to keep them but in a 75 with my tapajos Cobras they push them around a bit too much for my liking. Id rather keep my Cobras immaculate and not take a risk and have to catch the atabapo Is in my 300 gallon if they're too aggressive. Very pretty fish just wish mine weren't so aggressiveimage.jpgimage.jpg
