I just bought a 7" ornate for $20, and he's currently housed with an established community of a 6" Malawi eyebiter, a 4" pleco, four 4" pangasius, a 3" Raphael cat, a 5" USD cat, two 3" bumblebee cats, and a 5" featherfin syno. Is my new ornate gonna have a problem with any of these tankmates? Right now, he's just being shy and swimming in the sidelines, but no one is bothering him. Any suggestions or comments?
hi ya your ornate should get on fine with your other fish just keep an eye on the pangasius these get huge like 3 feet or more and need thousands of gallons
Keep an eye on the pleco too. There is a chance that it will suck on the ornate. That's what happen to my ornate a while back. The pleco sucks all the slimy coat from my ornate and it starts bleeding. The pleco was gone right away

I would watch your Bichir. Mine killed my baby red-tailed catfish, so I moved him and yesterday he killed a stingray of mine. He bit off his eye, and bit him a bunch on the head.
How long before my ornate poses a danger to my bumblebees? Right now, although they're almost the same length, the bumblebees are twice stockier than the ornate?
So are the bumble bee 3" or 7"? Sooner or later, most of the tank mates need to be moved, OR the ornate will move them for you
Ornate are very fun to watch. They are like garbage can
