Dovii

You can start with a big tank and add other fishes for your entertainment as some (most) young dovii likes to hide, but be prepared to eventually remove the other fish once the dovii gets aggressive as it grows older and bigger. My 9 inch dovii was in a 250g tank with 5 other cichlids, one by one i needed to remove the fishes that could not cope with the aggression, my dovii is now 12 inches and is solo in the 250g. He seems sad though as he does not have any fish to bully around :)

Just rescued this dovii from a guy that had 2. Only at 2 inches, this one got beat up pretty bad. Hoping to raise this one to do some ass kickn of its own.image.jpeg

Really love dovii and I know everyone said a 180g is too small but I think I'm gonna get one until it outgrows the tank. How long will I be able to keep him in a 180? It's gonna be male I was thinking it would be for at least 3-4 years...

Cheers, tom

You're fine with a 180 gal

Beat up pretty bad but good on ya.

I feel good in adopting a beat up fish but take a look at this puppy that was dumped at my back door at work this morning. Heard it whimpering and no way did it just wander from its owner in a commercial alley. Pure bred rottweiler that's about 7 weeks old.

Thought about adopting it but gonna get BIG and I already have a pit bull...even picked up a bag of puppy mix thinking I might keep it but nope...can't do it. Just dropped it off to a Vietnam veteran who asked for it so it's in good hands. Had to do it before my 12 year old son gets home from school. Hurts a little cuz I used to have one just like it.

Sorry...didn't mean to get off track...back to fish.image.jpeg
