I put about 2' of 11/2" pvc reduced to 1" with a check valve and a spray bar . I was surprised I thought I would have to reduce flow conciderbly but that little bit of 1" pvc really reduces your flow so if you can go all 11/2" that's the way id go.

Hd didnt have any threaded to barbed adapters. So i got female threaded x slip and reduced down to 1 inch with a bushing

No problem. Glad I could help.

Do these things scale up amp wise? Do the 6k and the next model up use the same power supply? My thoughts are that if they were to run multiple sizes on the same power supply the smaller pumps would be more reliable out of the box.

Unfortunately I do not think they do. Each pumps power supply has a different amp rating. Your philosophy makes sense. Instead of 20,000 of four different power supplies they could just order 100k of the biggest. Doing the electrical equations it looks as though these pumps power supplies only have 1-3 amp overhead which is why we are seeing so many failures since the heat created is almost max. watts x volts = amps. Now look at the rating on your power supply. The basic rule of thumb for purchasing a power supply is double whatever the device will pull.

It's unfortunate that the flaw isn't that obvious, but if the only reason to buy a waveline over a jebao was the power supply we might have it too good.

If you plan to use a smaller hose barb you would just cut off whatever is smaller down the line. I didn't use those at all. Many reviews stating that they leak which makes sense because there is no gasket to make the seal. I went to Menards and spent $4 on 4 fittings. Two thread x thread connectors and two threaded hose barb connections. You then just use teflon tape to close the gaps in the threads and make it leak proof.

Both of mine came with gaskets.

Did it come with the 1 barbed adapter or a few seperate sized ? Not a big deal though.

My power supply got VERY hot and luckily just burnt itself out instead of setting my apartment on fire. My power supply died after less than a year of use.

...given my experience and the many other examples of power supply failures, I would highly recommend purchasing a higher rated supply. I bought a $20 10A supply on eBay and it runs cool to the touch at 100% and it can even power a few pumps or DC powerheads.

Do you have a link to the supply you bought? Or a similar one.
