The cop shooting that deserves attention

I never cared for the term "reverse descrimination"as it does not matter the direction it is lodged from.A person hating his own race seems like a more fitting description for the term.

Most of the time in cases like this I blame both sides.

In this case itself I'm having a hard time seeing the cop's side. Sure he got nervous and thought maybe the guy was grabbing his gun but he was the one that asked for his DL and insurance.

I agree with you for sure. Justifying something doesn't leave one blameless, one thing is for sure, from the information we know (which could be skewed because the girlfriends voice was eerily calm describing everything on the video), it appears the victim is not to blame.

I think we're talking about 2 different things. I thought reverse descrimination was kind of like assuming every white person is racist as an example. As in black guy says "you're arresting me cuz I'm black" which is discriminatory against the white cop because not every white person is racist. Or another example, a visible minority getting a job over a deserving person because the company needs a certain % of visible minorities in management.

Kind of like the spin on it that he was shot because he was black and not because he was reaching for something and the cop messed up. Unfortunately, I do think subliminally part of it was because he was black as far as profiling goes, but not giving the benefit of the doubt seems to make us just as bad as them.

I was just generally speaking on the term but I don't see the "reverse"in either of those examples but just plain ol' descrimination lol.

Yup kind of like pre-heating an oven... you're not pre-heating it you're just heating it lol. Guess the reverse is the original intent not to be racist.

I initially read that the officer was oriental, not hearing much about that now.

Regardless, it is a very bad situation with no winners

I just watched the girlfriends video. She said the officer who shot her boyfriend was a short heavy set Chinese man.

According to Wikipedia: Reverse discrimination is discrimination against members of a dominant or majority group in favor of members of a minority or historically disadvantaged group. Groups may be defined in terms of race, gender, ethnicity, or other factors.
