Another scape change for you guys, this one is the same rock, but plants using microsorum "Java fern" I.e. super cheap, and some moss. Dennerle shrimp gravel Sunda white.

The filters will be moved soon, ignore them as the eyesores they are for the moment lol.

Beauty of this type of set-up, is that a thin layer of gravel means reduced chance of anaerobic bacteria building in the substrate, and the Java fern doesn't need to root down to do well :) IMG_20160825_211006.jpg IMG_20160825_211006.jpg

If I have trouble scaping my tank I'll just fly you over here. From what I've seen its impossible for you to make a bad scape.

Sounds good :) I think for dwarf puffers, have a look at this, might help

On a side note, how did this thread get to 27 pages!? Cmon the nano's! :P

You've started a nano monster movement. Love it.

Thanks for the advice on the plants. Will see what the LFS has in stock tomorrow to get an idea.

Although I'm not setting up the tank until late September once I get the gravel tomorrow and maybe some dragon rock I'll play around with some yards cape ideas, see how it goes!

I have some black rocks from my previous tank but I'd have to smash them with a hammer and hope for the right size pieces for my nano tank lol

According to that article Otos eat mainly algae in the wild. That means a finnex 24/7 would be perfect. It would produce enough light for the plants, create algae, and recreate the light from the sun throughout the day.

That doesn't look anything like the "java fern" I have... What the hell is this then? It was sold to me as java fern (paid $3 for I think) but it looks nothing like the java fern everyone else has.. :D

Looks the same as mine.

The next thing convict is going to do is brainwash everyone on the forum to get a nano tank, and then use his nano-fish-keeping army to force an admin to make a sticky on nano tanks...

The gravel isnt blue the light is :) the gravel is natural colours, and the teacher is getting a proper light over the weekend
