Well the main issue that i have seen from many people is that you often cintradict yourself. You want to keep your fish but you dont always feel like water changes.

I personally have no issue with you, but try and think it through. Even though this is the internet try and keep a positive image of yourself, i am here to listen and help others, not making multiple threads complaining about the issues you have sort of taken upon yourself and then talking about building a shed for the fish you seem to be struggling to care for.

Other than that have a nice day :)

I just hope I am not losing interest in my fish because I have a hard time keeping up with water changes. Now that I think about it, it seems like I have always had a hard time keeping up with maintenance, but that makes me worry that I am neglecting my fish. I always thought I took good care of my fish. I have taken fish to the vet multiple times because I love my fish a lot. I on't think I am losing interest I my fish, but I worry about it. I still love my fish and I would still take them to the vet if they needed it, but I have a hard time keeping up on maintenance.

You mentioned everything twice in that paragraph.

If you struggle with maintenance you HAVE to thin out on your stock, then you can get away with less maintenance

Well that says something. I do less waterchanges than before but i have low bioload on my tanks.

You need to rethink this a bit man

Have fun Hendre Hendre

Really Carp? Your entire situation.

If I told you (hypothetically) that I had five 20cm orandas in a 500ltr tank, you'd be all like "oh, that's cool, good for you" then if I said "I haven't changed the water in three years, my nitrate is around 700ppm" you'd be all like "that's so mean! you need to clean their tank!"

What if I told you (hypothetically) that I keep my three cats in my tiny bathroom, don't give them fresh water and haven't changed the kitty trays for 6 months? You'd be all like "those poor cats! you need to look after them better!"

What if I told you that I (hypothetically) keep a working dog (blue heeler for example) in my cat pen and never get it out? That's right, you'd tell me I was cruel and the animal deserves better - and you'd be right.

This is how people see you're fish tank maintenance, as cruel and unnecessary. How are you NOT seeing that? I like you kid, but geez...

Have fun with what?

Well said though!

I did a water change a week ago jeez
For the first time in six months... Geez.

C'mon carp. You spent five months telling everyone about your lack of maintenance, then expect people to forget about it after one water change...

The world doesn't work like that, people remember the negatives more than the positives. That's just the way it is. :)
