Keeping fish and being Mathematically challenged

Hello; In the spirit of derailing this thread, consider this if you will.

Just had a talk with a fellow I went to HS with 51 years ago. We are in a severe drought in my area with no real chance of decent rain anytime soon. Lots of brush fires in the mountains.

This fellow tells me he plans to wash his car tomorrow. After trying to point out why this is not a real good idea, he tells me it is none of my business. I eventually point out how he will be an a_ _ hole if the does and so on.

He claims I try to push my way of thinking onto others. I have taken to telling him he is dead wrong in the candidate he supports for president lately.

This is the question. Is it supremely dumb to wash a car during a severe drought??

Hello; Hyundai
Yeah, personally I think that's stupid. Just like my friend wanting to water her front and back lawn every day of the year.

Even if it rains she waters the lawn, when I tell her its a waste she tells me "its my lawn and my water bill, I'll do what I want" this same person wants four kids (thankfully she had complications after the first one so that's not likely to happen) but you can't explain to her that sooner or later her descendants will be suffering through the hell we've (as a species) created, and her doing stupid crap like that is only going to hurry it along. Her response when told that? "I don't care, as long as its not me or my kids"
My response "your grandkids?"
Her response "or them"
My response "their kids? Do you want your grandkids to see their grandkids suffer??? Think about it!!!"
Her response "can you please pass me the spray nozzle?"

Grrr!!! I feel as if your friend is a less frustrating version of mine... I feel for you.

Washing cars in a drought? Stupid.
There was a guy in high school he had the biggest muscles and was real popular, liked to bully people around, until he made the mistake of trying to bully me,long story short I kicked his ***.
The winner of a fight isn't necessarily the most muscled it's about strategy.

I totally get that. She is on demand feeding with the baby. Baby poops every 2-4 hours. That's just what they do. I wish our parents lived close enough II pawn the baby off on, they don't visit too often so we are on our own til we get a nanny, and we have an interview set up on Sunday.
If we can get her potty trained quickly that would be slick. She is already making babble so we are good in the speech area.
Apparently the trick is to take the nappy off and hold them on the potty when you see either the "poop face" or of you're quick enough and see the "pee face" while they're young so they don't see being wet or dirty for 20 mins as the norm. That's how my friend(s) (she has a husband) done it anyways.

Personally though I've never raised a baby so I can't confirm or deny it...

Yeah I meet a lot of idiots who think their actions don't have consequences. There will be consequences ,and soon ,there r people who think a apocalypse is a fairy tail and that everything is always gonna be ok. I'm not gonna help those sort of people when the time comes.

Look, Sir.....I call you that because I respect my elders, I will say I definitely think you are very passionate in your opinions. Sometimes I also have to tone it down a bit for the rest of society which to me, appears to be getting more and more sensitive and ALOT of "men" are becoming quite feminine when it comes to taking constructive criticism or offered advice.....I tend to say the things most people only think, but don't have the stones to say it......it's not always the best course of action. My best friend is a stubborn Italian and after 30 years, he still takes offense and get mad at things I would say only to help him.

Not everyone is smart enough to learn how to listen to the message and not the Messenger. If someone tells you something that is accurate and could be helpful, but they are a total 100% hypocrite about it......most people say "Screw this guy, he's a hypocrite "

But if what they said can HELP you in life regardless, I still use it and apply it where I can. WHY??? SCREW THEM, EXACTLY - if they want to ignore their own advice and ruin their own life, be my guest, but when I hear or read or see something that can help ME, i'm gonna change for the better no matter who it comes from.

Life Rule #1 - Take care of #1.....don't try to change others, and don't waste time trying to when it's time that could be spent bettering YOU.

Cheers.

She get changed asap, we don't let her sit in her own excrement for 20 mins. But I will be trying the technique as she gets older!

Haha I think I typed that awkwardly. I don't think any good parent would leave their child in a dirty nappy lol, but if bub poops through the night and its still 10 mins before you or your wife get up, bub will be in a dirty nappy for a few until then. IF that were to happen frequently I can imagine most babies would assume its "normal" to be dirty for a few mins during the night.

I think one of the last things any parent wants is to leave their baby in a dirty nappy, its right up there with not feeding them lol
