Substrate and lighting play a big part. Plus the individual fish patterns.
I dont see much grey in koloton and think that they have crisper patterns. But could be wrong. I hate comparing fish with pics on the net and dont know if this goes for all koloton/nigerian but i think the kolotons pattern get checkered towards the tail almoat like ansorgii and the nigerian is wavey. lol but thats what my eyes see. Both are really nice fish.

I can't remember where, I think multiple places, where it's been discussed that the LJ size listings aren't accurate. Here is the info from the Beblondie sticky:

****. There have been wild caughts 30" advertised in the aquaria trade. Most are buyers from Asia. As for the list, believe these are close or at what have been documented as catches. Either for studies or caught by locals.

**** If a fish is obtain at a small to medium size and grown out for several years in a tank. Lower jaws, ornate, & weeksii size seems to range out around 18"-22" for CB & Wild Caughts at "18-"24+.

thanks for posting! what does YWC mean? Young wild caught?

would be interesting to have an updated version including:
CB teug
WC and CB palmas palmas
CB moke
CB retropinnis

also WOW 42" Congi and 39" ropefish! That's insane! Not to mention 24" WC senegal.woahh
