Much of the problem with the SA forum comes from the hybrid board and hybrid mentality. Many people jump on the latest trend, and seek to create it. Most of the SA cichlids in circulation have been for 40+ years. Most of the really impressive SA keepers are humble dudes trying to do their own thing.

I mix the terms. I collect fish but they are all my pets.

This is definitely true. I'm on the CA/SA forums a lot and I've noticed a lot of the people are just plain rude. That interaction between Jaws and that other guy is nothing compared to some of the discussions I've seen over there lol

You poly people are the best, I've been thinking about getting one for awhile and a lot of it is just from the positive vibes this sub forum gives me.

It's pretty much just the threads with Frank. He's constantly getting banned for his arguments with other members.
