Most interesting nano fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine was peaceful but slowly declined after a while. If all else fails I'll join my girlfriend and get a betta as well :p

Nah, if you have a betta already do some of these other nano-fish!

I've had bettas that lived with other creatures including shrimp without issue, but not my current dude. He's cool though, very interactive. Plakat type.

I'll have to see what I can find. I think it's between puffers, clown killis if available, rasboras or celestial pearl danios :)

Plakats are the nasty ones. My LFS imports really nice Thai bred bettas, the elephant ears are particularly nice

White cloud minnows (Tanichthys)... hardy aquarium stalwart that can deal with water quality swings common in little tanks, no heater required, stays small, very colorful, interesting behaviors. Add a nice snail to be the scavenger; they won't bug the snail, so he'll be out all the time doing snail things.

No Scarlets?

Hendre Hendre I plan to order some Nano shrimp, fish, and some snails off AquaticArts.com. You wouldn't be able to order from the site, but you could use it as a guide for compatibility, and to give you an idea of some of the nano fish out there.

I may be breeding endlers in another tank for a bit of extra spending money. So don't worry about that ;)

I was in my LFS a couple of weeks ago and i spotted a bit of movement in this little tank they had. I had to more or less go face up to the tank to see what it was. Tiny tiny little fish. I looked at the label on the side of the tank and they were endlers. I've never seen them before, surprise surprise given their size!! Then i had an idea, how awesome would it be if you kept a tank full of little guys, like you lot are in about, but the the viewing pane in your tank was magnifying glass!! You'd have a tank full of tiny monster fish!!!!!

They get a bit bigger ;)
I plan on maybe breeding them

No Scarlets?
Never seen them here but can work :)

More interesting nano fish are Shellie's, lake Tang cichlid who stay pretty tiny. They're awesome to watch.
Definitely want to keep some one day
