Are there any compatibility issues with BGK and polys?
I don't think there would be any problems between a BGK and a bichir. Considering the fact that BGK are almost blind and don't see very well they can't do any harm to the bichir.

Food may be an issue. As the bgk uses electrical impulses to find live food. Bichirs use smell and when near sight. The bichirs may out compete a bgk....I don't know for sure but have been looking into them as I have always liked bgks. I have a very good lfs and have talked to a few people there on this subject they have one it a very large tank I think 280 not sure. It's 16" and it's been in their care for its entire life. It will eat pellets but it took years for that to happen they said. I don't know for sure but from some of the things I've read seems posible. Are there any compatibility issues with BGK and polys?
2 days ago I saw my 3" BGK snap at a 7" ropefish that came too close to the entrance to the tube he was in. Even though they may not have great sight like all knifefish they can sense the electromagnetic fields of other fish that's how they hunt in murky water
That is a good point. Mine is small right now 2.5-3''. He doesn't chase any one out but that may be due to the fact there are only 1 driftwood cave and 1 cave and the rest is plastic plants that float. The bigger tank will have driftwood and tons of places to hide.Just because he is nearly blind doesn't mean he won't fight back or snap at fish that get too close. I have seen him do this with some south american cichlid's that invade his space or bother him on occasion.
I love their electromagnetic fields, pretty neat.2 days ago I saw my 3" BGK snap at a 7" ropefish that came too close to the entrance to the tube he was in. I have to hand feed my BGK, but I love it. I'm sure I can hand feed my Bichirs. I enjoy the aquarium hobby a lot and pamper my fish, I hand feed most of them.Food may be an issue. Yea the bichirs are going to be new, and the BGK will probably be established in the new 150 gallon, so if anything the bichirs would be entering his home. There will be a lot of hiding spots in the large tank. That's right. They use their electromagnetic fields to navigate and hunt. But they are great tank mates for Bichirs. Only if the Bichir's attacked them would you have any real issues.
