Tiny guy..3 inches maybe a little more. Going to get him beefed up in a 75

Don't see those around lol where'd you find him? An intriguing cat, I like how the bottom jaw protrudes like a trap. It's piscivorous so may be hard to break, I've not seen much about them then again I've not really looked either. They get to a good size too. Nice score imo for sure

I've never seen one before; I assumed piraiba because juveniles have spots and look similar...then again, I didn't have a clear look at the fish. How big do they get? This fish is a new one for me.

Thx bro. Rapps had one left. Thouhht the same but jeff said he hasnt fed it live and the tank it was in was fed pellets and blood worms so hopefully wont be to hard to train

New to me as well. From what ive read under 20inches

Nice playing guys! Never had one of these. Hope to learn via Jaws.
Some write ups ive seen say they like a tad bit colder temps (68 to 75). But have seen older threads on mfk where they members say theres did fine in 80. Im thinking the vulture and jur wi be ok with 76 to 78 and find a happy medium.

Offered blood worms and pellets dont think its eaten. Tried some small pieces of shrimp this morning

Nice shovelnose catfish. A rare one too, how big do these get? Do they grow to monsterus sizes?

From what ive read they get between 18 and 21 inches.
