just came home with a new little guy. labeled him as a tiger oscar wlbut white and black instead of red and black. never heard of them or seen them before . unfortunately they sold the tiger I was looking at yesterday but still got this cute lil guy. am I wrong to assume care should be the same as any other oscar?

The new name got you. It's a nice Oscar though.

No this aint no special white Oscar or something you've never seen before. It's the mind trick by fancy names. Where do you see White with your own eyes though? LOL It even made you lie to yourself.

Tel that store they are good

no name game special tricks. just called it a "tiger oscar" still a cheap $7 dollar fish like any other oscar they had in the tank. iv have personally never seen a white tiger oscar online or in-store before. every time I looked up tiger oscar I see red and black. thus my question.. are these not that common or maybe just not popular that stores just don't carry them .... or do they turn into huge 4 foot monsters ?.. you tell me comrade

found it

If that is what it is, it is a real treasure. An Oscar that is small enough to keep in a 75g community tank, just discovered their existence in this thread.

but how do you know that's what this Oscar is?

it probably is and it's rare Wiki says

not 100% sure that what he is . just some Google foo last night and a few old thread on this site seen to point me in that direction. I won't know for sure till he gets bigger . either way I'm happy with the fish I got and he is going to look good with a red/black tiger oscar I want to get.
