Hello, so the 220g has been running great for nearly 2 years but all of a sudden over the last week this nasty looking white crap hasn't turn up all over my bogwood and rock work... I am doing a water change now... but any ideas or solutions? The fish seem fine and still as Agro with each other as usual.

Water test results.... think the B**tard tank has re-cycled itself after one of the filters stopped working and had to be totally cleaned... any advice to sort this? Running 2x JBL crystalprofi green line 2001's and they are a nightmare they take ages to purge manually and stop working at the drop of a hat due to air locks!! They are ruining my life arghh!

Probably should move the fish first of all, and then just let it run until cycled again?

I'd add some prime and some bottled bacteria. Say what you will about bottled bacteria but it's worth a shot IMO

Yeah sounds like a good idea... luckily the fish seem happy and the water change should help... will grab some tomorrow... any idea what the white gunk is? I washed a bunch of it off during the water change but it seems to be back!!! It's stuff like this that make me wish I would just ditch the community set up and just go single species tank... they are sooooo much easier!

My bad it's either running or covered in fungus take it out the water if it smells for terrible it's probably the fungus. If it's soft Fallen apart sponge in Lake and you can easily poke holes in it, then it's rotting

I checked it and the wood is solid... thank god! So sounds like a bacterial bloom as the water as cloudy before the Wc, cool will manage it as you suggested. The tank needs a good clean any from all the left over cockle shells from the fahaka. Nice one thanks gents, was getting a bit worried!

Are the branches safe and totally dried out before you put them in the tank.
It could be sap if the branches were not dried out totally.
